Why You Need a Website

Why You Need a Website

You are probably sitting there wondering what exactly a website can do for you that your social media profiles/groups/pages cannot already do for you.

Your website is YOURS.

Your social media profile can disappear at any given time. It is extremely important that you control the audience, the content and don’t have to worry about where it is going.

Here are 8 Reasons you NEED a website:

  1. Having a website saves you TIME & MONEY. You can put the information up once, instead of multiple times saving you the time from creating the same content multiple times. When you work with someone who has the skill to create & set up a website for you, it saves you time and prevents costly mistakes you could make on your own.

  2. It is always accessible. It is convenient for your client, and that’s what matters. Your goal in business is to be convenient for your client. If they have to wait on you to get information or if they have to wait on you to respond to information requests, then you have the potential of losing those prospects.

  3. It provides CREDIBILITY. When you have a website it provides more credibility and professionalism for your potential clients. They don’t look at you as a fly-by-night business. They know you are serious about your business and what you can do for them.

  4. It keeps CUSTOMERS updated and informed. It is an easy way for you to reach all your customers at one time; it lets them know what is going on and it is more than just a static website, there can be videos, shopping, etc.

  5. It IMPROVES your customer service. It allows you to have better customer service options to support your clients and elevates a lot of back-and-forth correspondence. They can get customer service questions answered right on your website.

  6. It’s a place to SHOWCASE your work. You can share your work, your accomplishments, and everything that allows your potential clients to determine why they should work with you. It also shows potential clients what sets you apart and allows them to make an informed decision about working with you and also is an easy way to reach out to you.

  7. A website gives you access to a wider TARGET audience. Your website is an asset for your business, not just an expense. It’s an asset to your information, it’s lead generation, it’s a conversion platform, and it's a 24/7 billboard that 7.6 BILLION users have access to when it is convenient for them.

  8. You OWN & CONTROL your website. You can control every aspect of your website. You don’t have to conform to a specific format that is allowed by the social media platform you are on.

Having a website is especially important for product based as it gives your clients an easy, smooth process for purchasing from you, right on your website.

You can create the website yourself using one of the many DIY platforms available to you, but you run the risk of making costly mistakes. You can also hire a developer/designer to do it for you {which we highly recommend to make sure everything is set up correctly for 100% success}.

Sheridan Cotrell

I (Sheridan) used to be that visionary business owner with all the balls in the air. I had my master's degree in speech therapy and created a six-figure consulting business in that field. But I didn’t stop there. I created another six-figure business as a health coach, and then one as a business coach for good measure. But the whole time I was trading time for money. I worked a zillion hours a week. Don’t believe me? I have five kids, and in addition to the work stuff, I was an available and committed mother to my children – doing the laundry, ferrying them to activities, and on and on... By outward measures, I looked successful, but on the inside, I was mentally and physically exhausted. I had hit a ceiling in my income and every incremental increase required more from me. I was in constant striving mode, trying to push myself to constantly do more. Until it all fell apart (even typing that makes me quake remembering). I had a major health crisis that caused me to pull the plug on 95% of my business. Almost everything came to a full stop. Which was the best gift I ever received. You see, working hard and learning more skills is not enough. Heart, vision and best intentions are not enough. It’s embarrassing to admit, but I didn’t know what I was doing even though it looked like I did.
